Gold range-bound as markets await crucial jobs numbers
(03 Jul 2025, 15:19)
Gold hovered near $3360 per ounce on Thursday, moving in a narrow range as investors stayed cautious ahead of the crucial US non-farm payrolls report. With the dollar also trading near a 3.5-year low at 96.5, markets remained focused on signals that could shape the Federal Reserve's rate trajectory. Expectations for a potential rate cut as early as July gained traction after ADP data on Wednesday showed a surprise decline in private payrolls, with June employment falling by 33,000'raising concerns over a cooling labor market. The subdued momentum in both gold and the dollar underscores the high-stakes nature of Friday's job numbers. On the domestic front, MCX August delivery gold futures slipped 0.3 percent to ₹97119 per 10 grams.
